Sellafield - Box Encapsulation Plant
The Box Encapsulation Plant (Delivery Team) is an unincorporated joint venture of Amec Foster Wheeler, Balfour Beatty and Jacobs.
The framework contract for the project was awarded in October 2014 and is being delivered as an integral part of the Magnox Swarf Storage Silo (MSSS) programme for Sellafield Ltd, which is tackling the clean-up of one of the most hazardous legacy facilities on the Sellafield site.
Total E&P Italia - Tempa Rossa
The scope included all coatings, insulation, fireproofing and pipeline inspection activities at the TOTAL Tempa Rossa oilfield site in Italy. At a glance, more than 3,000 inspections were completed throughout the project. A total of 5,326 field joints were completed on the pipeline alone and the oil processing centre, LPG and well-sites required inspection of more than 15 types of coating systems.
Total E&P Angola - Kaombo Block 32
In October 2015, Marc Alexander were onsite at Pipeline Induction Heat (Burnley, UK) to witness the preparation and application of fusion bonded epoxy, chemically modified polypropylene and the polypropylene tape coating systems during the procedure qualification trial on behalf of Technip. We witnessed and monitored the application of polypropylene flame spray (PPFS) field joints and reported the PQT repair procedures for FBE, CMPP, PP Tape and PPFS.
Exxon Neftegas - Sakhalin, Russia
Marc Alexander were given the opportunity to review the work package in order to assess the corrosion under insulation (CUI) issues at the Odoptu site on the Island of Sakhalin, Russia. The project applies industry-leading technology to successfully operate in a safe and environmentally responsible manner in one of the most challenging sub-arctic environments in the world.
BP Shah Deniz Phase 2 - Caspian
Providing inspection services at Advanced Insulation Systems (AIS) at their Leeds (UK) production facility in order to bridge the QC work package between production and client. AIS applied ContraTherm® C25 material to the Shah Deniz production trees as part of an extremely complex project that involved flexibility and perseverance in order to meet the demands of the specification.
Subsea7 Talisman - Montrose BLP
Onsite at Advanced Insulation Systems (AIS) to carry out base material surface inspection and dimensional mark-up for flange cut-back and field joints prior to the application of ContraTherm® C25 syntactic silicone thermal insulation. Monitored all quality procedures and in-process inspections of ContraTherm® C25 application until release of the client final inspection acceptance certificate.
Exxon Mobil - Erha North Nigeria
Surveillance site visits to Surface Engineers, Lancashire to witness surface preparation and application of Sigma Phenguard three-coat phenolic corrosion protection system prior to application of ContraTherm® C55 phenolic thermal insulation at Advanced Insulation Systems (AIS) in Leeds, UK. We were also involved in all aspects of Documentation Review and Acceptance.
